The world has already been introduced to the character of Miles Morales through the aminated film Spider-Man: Into the Spider Verse, but what would he look like in real life in the Marvel Cinematic Universe?

Here is a list of seven young up-and-coming actors who would be perfect for their role, whether that be because of their acting catalogue, previous experience playing the part of a superhero or, their all-round personality.

Take a look at the contenders for who could be the human embodiment of Miles Morales:

Justice Smith

Smith is already used to playing roles in massive box-office hits, so he’d definitely be able to handle the pressure of being in a Marvel blockbuster.

The member of Forbes 2017’s 30 under 30 list is best known for being in movies such as Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, Detective Pikachu and All the Bright Places – and he’s only 26 years old.

However, his age might work against him when it comes to the playing the part of Miles Morales as he is getting on a bit to play a teenage character, but he has proved he is a talented actor, so he might be able to pull it off.

RJ Cyler

26-year-old Cyler appeared in the 2017 reboot of Power Rangers, so he’s already got a slight glimpse of the superhero granted, granted Marvel is all things superheroes on steroids, but it’s still but him in good stead.

He is also used to playing a lead role in movies as shown by his portrayal as Earl Jackson in Me, Earl and the Dying Girl and has worked alongside the likes of Idris Elba and Regina King in 2021 Western film The Harder They Fall.

Cyler also has experience in the DC world as he was cast in a recurring role in the second season of The CW’s Black Lightning.

Miles Brown

Brown wouldn’t have to get used to being called by a different name on set, hand him the potential role of Morales now!

The 17-year-old clearly has talent as he was only 10 years old when he was cast in Black-ish, and this hasn’t gone unnoticed by The Hollywood Reporter as they featured him on their top 30 under 18 stars to look out for.

He’s the whole package as he can act, he can dance - he starred on Dancing With The Stars: Juniors, and he can sing – the LA native released his own album We The Future in 2020.

A great all-round contender.

Caleb McLaughlin

20-year-old McLaughlin is already extremely well-known thanks to his role on Netflix’s hit show Stranger Things where he plays Lucas Sinclair, for which he has won a SAG Award.

He recently got his first taste of appearing a film when he was cast in Concrete Cowboy and was able to hold his own, despite acting alongside the legendary Idris Elba.

He’s still at a good age to convincing pull off the role, he’s got name recognition but is still waiting for his big break in the on the big screen and playing Miles Morales could be the answer.

Jaden Smith

Yes, that Jaden, the son of Will Smith and brother of Willow (who has just released a song with Machine Gun Kelly.)

Although Smith has been more recognised for his rap music lately, he has been in his fair share of films including After Earth, The Karate Kid and The Pursuit of Happiness, and his own personality isn’t that dissimilar to that of Morales.

It might be to tough to prise Smith away from his music career, but the opportunity to play a character in the MCU might be enough to sway him back to big screen.

Myles Truitt

Just like some of the other contenders Truitt already has superhero and comic book storytelling experience thanks to playing the part of Issa Williams on The CW’s Black Lightning.

Although he doesn’t have a whole lot of acting experience overall, he was deemed good enough to appear in 2018’s Kin alongside James Franco, Zoë Kravitz and Michael B Jordan.

Marvel could give him just the exposure he needs to take his career to the next level.

Massachusetts-born Jacobs is best known for his work on the film adaptation of Stephen King’s novel IT, so he already knows what it’s like to be involved in a massive hit film.

The 20-year-old first started acting when he landed himself a gig for a Hot Wheels advert, and the rest is history, he moved to Hollywood when he was 13 to try and further his acting and music career.

He’s already released a variety of singles and EPs on the music front and he’s also experienced a rise in his acting career because as well as his role in It, he also has a recurring part on Hawaii Five-0.
