The Jungle Book

We are counting down the days to the release of The Jungle Book here at FemaleFirst, as it is one of the spring movies that we are looking forward to the most.

The Jungle Book is a new live-action version of the Rudyard Kipling novel and sees Jon Favreau to the director's chair. The Jungle Book is the first film for Favreau since Chef in 2014 - however, he is no stranger to the blockbuster with the likes of Iron Man and Iron Man 2 already under his belt.

I cannot wait to see what Favreau delivers because the trailer does promise to be a visually stunning and truly action-packed ride. If you are as excited about the film as we are, we have a couple of great new clips from the film for you to take a look at:

Favreau has brought together a fantastic voice cast list as Idris Elba, Bill Murray, Ben Kingsley, Scarlett Johansson, Lupita Nyong'o, Christopher Walken, and Giancarlo Esposito are on board as Shere Khan, Baloo, Bagheera, Kaa, Raksha, King Louie, and Akela.

The movie will also introduce us to the acting talent of Neel Sethi, who is set to take on the central role of Mowgli. This will be the big screen debut for the young actor.

Disney have had some huge success in recent years with live action movies Maleficent and Cinderella and The Jungle Book really is promising to be another huge hit for the studio.

The Jungle Book is an all-new live-action epic adventure about Mowgli (Sethi), a man-cub who's been raised by a family of wolves. But Mowgli finds he is no longer welcome in the jungle when fearsome tiger Shere Khan (Elba), who bears the scars of Man, promises to eliminate what he sees as a threat.

Urged to abandon the only home he's ever known, Mowgli embarks on a captivating journey of self-discovery, guided by panther-turned-stern mentor Bagheera (Kingsley), and the free-spirited bear Baloo (Murray). Along the way, Mowgli encounters jungle creatures who don't exactly have his best interests at heart, including Kaa (Johansson), a python whose seductive voice and gaze hypnotizes the man-cub, and the smooth-talking King Louie (Walken), who tries to coerce Mowgli into giving up the secret to the elusive and deadly red flower: fire.

Ever since I saw the first trailer for The Jungle Book, it has been a movie that I cannot wait to see - it really is promising to be an April movie that you cannot afford to miss.

The Jungle Book is released 15th April.
