Today (June 22, 2019) marks 50 years since we lost an entertainment legend – Judy Garland. We are celebrating the wit and the warmth of Judy Garland, one of Hollywood’s greatest stars, by pulling together some of her more memorable quotes!

From the inspirational: “Always be a first-rate version of yourself and not a second-rate version of someone else.”

To her bleak realism: "Behind every cloud is another cloud.”

From her kind, loving and caring personality: “I’m a woman who wants to reach out and take 40 million people into her arms.”

To taking control of her own life: “There have been a lot of stories written about me, some of them fantastically distorted.”

Looking back at the film that thrust her into the limelight: “I've always taken The Wizard of Oz very seriously, you know. I believe in the idea of the rainbow. And I've spent my entire life trying to get over it.”

Showcasing her hopeless romantic personality: “I can live without money, but I cannot live without love.”

It was no wonder why the people adored Judy with her sparkling personality and attitude:

“The greatest treasures are those invisible to the eye but found by the heart.”

“Well, we have a whole new year ahead of us. And wouldn't it be wonderful if we could all be a little more gentle with each other, and a little more loving, have a little more empathy, and maybe - next year at this time - we'd like each other a little more.”

And finally with a huge respect to all who surrounded her: [when told by a reporter that she had a large gay following] “I couldn't care less. I sing to people!”

JUDY, the first feature film about Judy Garland, arrives in cinemas on October 4 this year. It stars Renée Zellweger as the world’s greatest entertainer. Check out the trailer below:
