Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss Everdeen

Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss Everdeen

There is no denying that Jennifer Lawrence is one of the most exciting young actress working in Hollywood at the moment.

She has already shown her versatility by moving from the likes of Winter's Bone to the big budget blockbuster X-Men: First Class.

And that versatility looks set to continue throughout 2012 and that is why she has made the FemaleFirst Hot List.

At the age of twenty one Lawrence already has an Oscar nomination under her belt, picking up a Best Actress nod for her role in Winter's Bone, and she is set to show off her action credentials this year.

The Lawrence project that everyone is excited about at the moment is The Hunger Games, an adaptation of the popular Suzanne Collins novel.

The actress is set to play heroine Katniss Everdeen while Gary Ross is in the director's chair.

The Hunger Games promises to be one of the early must see movies of the year as character Katniss must battle to survive.

She will be switching action for horror later in the year as she leads the cast in House At The End Of The Street.

The movie marks the return to the director's chair for Mark Tonderai
for the first time since Hush and also sees Elisabeth Shue on the cast list.

A mother and daughter move to a new town and find themselves living next door to a house where a young girl murdered her parents.

When the daughter befriends the surviving son, she learns the story is far from over.

And as if action and then horror isn't enough she will be moving into comedy at the end of the year with The Silver Linings Playbook.

With the comedy movie comes another all star cast as she joins forces with Bradley Cooper and Robert de Niro.

2012 looks set to be a very successful year for the young actress as she shows that she is willing to tackle any genre of film.
