Minghella Gets Nervous About Stunt Scenes After Handyman's Fall.... Movie-maker Anthony Minghella felt nervous while filming rooftop-jumping scenes in Breaking And Entering, because he was sure news of an accident to his window cleaner was a bad omen. The paranoid Cold Mountain director asked stuntmen and his effects crew to double check wires and safety measures after hearing his own handyman had fallen from a ladder. He recalls, "We went out with the safety people to examine all of the locations where we were going to be doing all of these running and jumping scenes... and I got a call saying that the window cleaner had fallen out of the window of my house."He was seriously injured... It was very ironic because there we all were being told by the safety people to be careful and our window cleaner had fallen off his ladder."Oddly, that made me so nervous throughout the shooting and, as a result, we were extremely careful with everything we did - more than we needed to be."We had Rafi Gavron, who did a lot of the stunts himself because he is one of these free runners - this game of running and jumping across rooftops, and I wouldn't let him perform some of the stunts.
