Adam Lambert returned to Twitter to clarify the comments that he made about Les Miserables.

The singer hit at the quality of some of the vocals in the film suggesting that it may have been better if they had recorded them in a studio rather that live on set.

Russell Crowe, who plays Javert in the film. hit back earlier this week saying that director Tom Hooper was looking for rare and emotional vocal performances.

Writing on Twitter Lambert said: "My movie review has gone viral. U can spend a whole year praising artists for inspiring work, but one critique gets all the attention. Funny," he wrote.

"Those raw and real moments when characters broke down or were expressing the ugliness of the human condition were superb.

"However... My personal opinion: there were times when the vocals weren't able to convey the power, beauty and grace that the score ALSO calls for."

The singer also went on to heap praise on Anne Hathaway saying the performance that she gave was Oscar worthy.

Les Miserables is released 11th January.
