Amanda Seyfried has revealed that the voice training was one of the toughest parts of working on Les Miserables.

The actress takes on the role of Cosette in the movie which saw her sing live on set during filming.

The actress joked that she feels her voice still isn't ready despite the fact that the movie hits the big screen this week.

Speaking to Press Association the actress said: "I'm still not ready! I started studying in August last year and it's just weird to retrain your voice and unlearn everything that you learned over the past eight years.

"For eight years I quit singing and I just sang for myself and it was hard - to train your voice to have that kind of stamina and to condition it to sound classical. It was tough after not doing it for so long."

It is not the first time that we have heard Seyfried sing on the big screen after being part of Mamma Mia.

This time around she joins Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe and Anne Hathaway on the cast list while Tom Hooper returns to the director's chair.

2013 is set to be a busy year for the actress as she has also completed work on Lovelace, The Big Wedding and lent her voice to animation movie Epic.

Les Miserables is released 11th January.
