Ang Lee

Ang Lee has described Life of Pi as the most difficult movie he has ever made.

The Oscar winning filmmaker is back in the director's chair as he brings Yann Martel's visual novel to the big screen.

And there were lots of elements that Lee had to juggle whilst making this movie - not to mention that he was tackling 3D for the first time.

Speaking to the Press Association the filmmaker said: "Cinematically speaking, it was the most difficult movie I ever made.

"Water, kid, tiger, a new language I was not familiar with - 3D - and it does have a tricky ending that sort of pulls the rug under the audience's feet. That was quite scary."

The director was in London earlier this week for the premiere of the film and he was joined on the red carpet by lead actor Suraj Sharma.

Sharma is making his big screen debut as he takes on the central role of Pi in the movie.

Life of Pi is released 20th December.
