Ben Stiller admitted that he was ready to kill the monkey in his new movie Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian.
Stiller, Ricky Gervais and Hank Azaria were in the UK to promote the second movie in the Night at the Museum franchise, which once again sees Stiller's character Larry on the end of a string of vicious slaps from monkey Dexter, played by Crystal.
At the UK press conference Stiller said: "I'm beyond tired of it. I think I resent her. There's something about it - I have a Pavlovian reaction to getting slapped by the monkey, the monkey is going off a Pavlovian reaction to slap me to get food, and then I get slapped and I want to kill the monkey!"
However Stiller's co-star Hank Azaria, who joins the movie as Egyptian Pharaoh Kahmunrah didn't agree: "I was very honoured to be slapped because all that monkey really does is slap you! It really packs a little wallop though, so no wonder [Ben Stiller] is over it!"
Night at the Museum was a worldwide smash in 2006 when it grossed over $574 at the global box office.
Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian is released 20th May.
