Benedict Cumberbatch

Benedict Cumberbatch has described his role in the new Star Trek movie as 'the stuff of dreams'.

The actor is set to play the baddie in the JJ Abrams directed movie but it has still not been revealed which character he is set to play.

Speculation has been swirling that he will play Khan bit the actor admits that he is sick of denying that that is the role he will be playing.

Speaking to Shortlist the actor said: "I'll tell you this - it's iconic and it's exciting. I'm bored of denying that it's Khan now, because people keep saying it.

"It's a great part and it's really well written. I enjoyed the fights and the stunts, there's lots of that and it really is proper action movie territory.

"It's the stuff of dreams. I know it's such a well-trodden, clichéd path, 'Brit actor plays baddie in Hollywood', but I channeled all of that and just really enjoyed it."

Cumberbatch can currently be seen in BBC TV series Parade's End but he will be back on the big screen at the end of the years for The Hobbit.

The movie has now been split into three parts and he will voice character Smaug.

Star Trek sequel is released 17th May.
