The hugely popular stand-up comedian and actor Chris Rock is set to bring another French movie to the English-speaking audience.
Chris Rock has bought the rights to translate the French film La Premiere Etoile (The First Star), and is planning a big budget remake in the States, despite it only being released last year.
He plans to write and produce the film for now, although it would seem likely that he may star in it as well.
The film centres around a black working class family who leave their inner-city home to shake up the status-quo on the ski slopes of the Alps, much to the disapproval of the elitist guests there.
The film was a massive hit in France last year, coming tenth in the national box office totals for 2009.
This is Rock’s second dip into French films after 2007's I Think I Love My Wife, which was based on the 1972 French film Chloe in the Afternoon, by late moviemaker Eric Rohmer
