Christina Hendricks reveals that she jumped at the chance to work on Ryan Gosling's directorial debut because she fell in love with the script.

How to Catch a Monster sees Gosling make not only his directorial debut but also his writing debut and it will reunite the pair after the worked together on Drive.

Speaking to Vulture the actress said: "He sent the script over in this cool box with an interesting little key, and cool artwork in it.

"It was like the full package! And then I read the script and was in love with it, so I called him back and said, 'Yeah, please'.

"I don't know what the exact budget is, but I think we've got a nice amount.

"I'm sure it will be incredibly clever, and Ryan already has storyboards and pictures of neighbourhoods and homes, and he's already collecting music for it... when you read it, it gives you the feeling, maybe, of a memory. Something from your childhood that you can't really pinpoint."

Hendricks continues to mix her movie work with TV as she plays Joan Holloway in his series Mad Men.

And How To Catch A Monster is not the only project that she has in the pipeline as she is also set to star in Seconds of Pleasure.
