Clint Eastwood

Clint Eastwood has admitted that he has no desire to move back in front of the camera, but could be made to reconsider if the right role came along.

We haven't seen the actor turned director on the big screen since his outstanding performance in Gran Torino back in 2008, a role and movie that should have been Oscar nominated, and it looks like we possibly never will.

Speaking to Yahoo News the Oscar winner said: "But I haven't read many scripts like that," he says. "I'll stay right where I am, behind the camera.

"I have no burning desire to get up there. But if the right role came along, I could develop the desire to do it."

Eastwood is back behind the camera with his new project Hereafter, which sees him reunite with Invictus actor Matt Damon for the second time.

And Eastwood already has another directing project in the pipeline in the form of Hoover, which is all set to team him up with Leonardo DiCaprio.

The movie is a biopic of FBI director J. Edgar Hoover, focusing on his scandalous career and controversial private life as a homosexual and rumoured cross dresser.

Hereafter is released 28th January.
