Emma Watson

Emma Watson has marked the end of shooting the final Harry Potter film by chopping off her long locks in favour of a short cropped style - branding the hair makeover "the most liberating thing ever".

The 20 year old has played the boy wizard's geeky pal Hermione Granger since 2001 and sported a long, wavy brown hairstyle for the duration of the movie series.

Filming wrapped on Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II in June (10) - and now Watson has decided to drastically change her look.

In a photo on the star's website, the brunette beauty is seen with a short, elfish crop and the actress admits it's a style she's wanted since she was a teenager.

In an accompanying post, she writes, "Cut my hair off a few days ago... Feels incredible. I love it.

"I've wanted to do this for years and years; it's the most liberating thing ever. Hope you like it. Big love from Emma x."
