Evangeline Lilly has admitted that she is use to working on 'boys club' movies.

The actress takes on the newly created role of Woodland Elf Tauriel in Peter Jackson's adaptation of The Hobbit - one of very few female roles in the movie.

But the actress says that she is quite comfortable on male dominated projects as she has done a fair few of them.

Speaking to MTV News the actress said: "It's kind of, like, my M.O. 'Lost' was a boys club, 'The Hurt Locker' was a boys club, ['Real Steel'] was a boys club, and now 'The Hobbit' is a boys club.

"So I'm used to it. ... It's really chilled out and relaxed, and everyone is really down to earth and supportive."

And Real Steel is set to be her next project as that hits the big screen later this month - it sees the actress team up with Hugh Jackman.

The Hobbit: There and Back Again will be released next year.
