Gary Oldman

Gary Oldman has described the conclusion of The Dark Knight Rises as 'truly epic'.

The Oscar nominated actor is set to reprise the role of Jim Gordon later this month for the third and final Batman movie from director Christopher Nolan.

Speaking to Empire the actor said: "This is truly... epic. You know those Fast And Furious movies where they drive at one speed, then they hit that button?

"And they put the octane or the gas into the engine and they seem to drive at hyperspeed? This is Chris hitting the button...

"It is a truly epic conclusion to the whole thing, and I don't mean that in a gratuitous way."

This is the first Batman movie since the huge success of The Dark Knight and sees Christian Bale, Michael Caine and Morgan Freeman also return to their roles.

The Dark Knight Rises is one of the most highly anticipated movies of 2012 and it looks set to surpass the success of it's predecessor when it hits the big screen in just over a weeks time.

The Dark Knight Rises is released 20th July.
