Gemma Arterton kept the prosthetic nose she wore in new movie Tamara Drewe - because she loved the way she looked.

The former Bond girl's character returns to the village of her youth sporting a new look, but Arterton had to don the fake big nose for flashback scenes - and they reminded the actress she had once dreamed of having a more prominent profile.

She says, "It's (prosthetic nose) one of my most favourite possessions.

"It's in a frame in my downstairs loo, where you keep all the novelty things, and it's got a picture of me, taken by the hair and make-up artist.

"I'm scowling wearing it and it says, 'Gemma darling, you never looked better!'

"It reminds me of my ultimate goal of having a big nose."

Arterton has enjoyed a hugely successful year as she moved into the big budget blockbuster movies Prince of Persia: The Sands Of Time and Clash of the Titans before returning to the British film Tamara Drewe.

The actress is all set to film London Fields, which is all set to be directed by Michael Winterbottom.
