Gerard Butler has revealed that he was unsure about doing the voice for his latest movie How To Train Your Dragon and went a little over the top.
The actor lends his voice to the latest Dreamworks animation project, which also sees Jonah Hill, Christopher Mintz Plasse and America Ferrera on the cast list.
In an interview with Contactmusic the actor said: "I think the voice just happens through a process of feeling it and seeing it up their next your character next to the size of him because at first I was speaking very loudly like a big man, and I realised that was pretty over the top and unnecessary.
"Finally you find a voice that has the right tone and depth and resonance that means you can get the strength but also still keep the subtlety of humanity and vulnerability."
And Butler is enjoying plenty of success at the moment with How To Train Your Dragon toppling Alice In Wonderland from the top spot at the American box office.
But with The Bounty Hunter, which sees him team up with Jennifer Aniston, the actor has two movies inside the top five.
How To Train Your Dragon is released 31st March.
