Gina Carano has admitted that she did not know who Steven Soderbergh was when she met him to discuss Haywire.
The mixed marital arts fighter leads an all star cast in the new year as she stars in Soderbergh’s new action movie.
And despite not knowing who the Oscar winning filmmaker was when they talked about the film she landed the central role of Mallory Kane.
Speaking to Empire the actress said: “I didn’t know who he was.
“Now I am kind of embarrassed that I didn’t! It was just a very cool conversation with two people talking about their lives and at the end he was just, like, ‘Do you wanna do a film?’ I said, ‘Yes!’”
Carano is joined on the cast list by the likes of Ewan McGregor, Michael Fassbender, Channing Tatum and Michal Douglas in only the second movie of her career.
Haywire is released 20th January.
