Guillermo Del Toro

Guillermo Del Toro says that Crimson Peak will be scary and upsetting.

The director has begun work on his new movie and actress Emma Stone is one of the names that has been linked to the film.

And Toro says that this new movie will see him mix a few different genres.

Speaking to Collider the director said: "It's a Gothic romance, set at the turn of the century in the north of England, in a house at the top of a hill with a girl as the central character.

"Those are the classical elements, but how we go about it is very different. It's going to be scary and at the same time, emotionally upsetting."

But before we see Del Toro's Crimson Peak he will be back this year with his new movie Pacific Rim.

An adaptation of Pinocchio is also in the pipeline for the filmmaker while he will put his producers hat on for Mama.

Pacific Rim is released 12th July.
