Harrison Ford

Harrison Ford

Harrison Ford only acts for the money.

The Indiana Jones and Star Wars actor has enjoyed a career that has spanned over forty years and he remains one of Hollywood's biggest names.

But the actor has admitted that it's the money that keeps him in the business and he has no interest in the fame that comes with his job.

Speaking to Contactmusic the actor said: "I'm in it for the money. And I mean that in the nicest possible way. This is my job.

"Acting is my craft. I've spent my whole life working on it and I want to get paid well to do it, because otherwise I'm being irresponsible, not valuing what I do for a living.

"When I came into this business I didn't even know the names of the movie studios - I was under a contract to a studio for $150 a week.

"One thing I learned is that the studios had no respect for a person who was willing to work for them for that amount."

Ford is back on the big screen this week in his latest movie Extraordinary Measures, which sees him team up with Brendan Fraser.

The movie is a drama centred on the efforts of John and Aileen Crowley to find a researcher who might have a cure for their two children's rare genetic disorder.

Extraordinary Measures is released 26th February.
