Hayley Atwell will not be reprising the role of Peggy Carter in Captain America: The Winter Soldier.
While we are still waiting to hear who has been cast as the female lead in the movie it was expected that Atwell would feature at some point in the movie - possibly through flashback moments.
However it seems that that will no longer be the case as TimeOut (via CBM) revealed her non-involvement in the project.
Chris Evans will be back for a second solo outing as Captain America and the first of his stories to be set in the present day.
Anthony Mackie and Frank Grillo are two of the new faces on the cast list while Samuel L. Jackson is set to reprise the role of Nick Fury.
The likes of Felicity Jones and Anna Kendrick are just some of the names that have been banded around for the lead female character.
Filming on the movie is set to get underway early this year for an April 2014 release.
