Hayley Atwell has revealed that she loved the action side of her new movie Captain America: The First Avenger.
The British actress takes on the role of Peggy Carter in the latest Marvel Comic movie to hit the big screen - which is her first big budget blockbuster.
Speaking to the Belfast Telegraph the actress said: "I started off with a pistol and the director could clearly tell how much I loved working with it and said 'Oh just give her a machine gun' and I was like 'yes'!
"So I got to play with that for a few months. There's lots of action in it and I'd love to do more of it.
The movie sees Carter star alongside Chris Evans, who is not stranger to the Marvel world, as he takes on the role of Steve Rogers aka Captain America.
And Atwell had nothing but praise for her American co-star: "Chris was a gentleman. He's, I imagine, got so much more pressure than any of us, but yet he's incredibly sincere in this part, and very charming without being goofy, and very earnest in a way.
"He's a very talented guy and very bright, so it was a real pleasure to work with him."
Captain America: The First Avenger is released 29th July.
