Hop

Hop has topped the U.S. box office - comfortably fighting off the competition from Duncan Jones' new film Source Code.

Hop blends live action with animation as Russell Brand, who is becoming accustomed to box office success, voicing the character of the Easter Bunny.

E.B., the Easter Bunny's teenage son, heads to Hollywood, determined to become a drummer in a rock 'n' roll band.

In LA, he's taken in by Fred after the out-of-work slacker hits E.B. with his car.

The movie took over $38 million in it's opening weekend to easily take the top spot. After the success of debut movie Moon Duncan Jones is back with his new picture Source Code.

The movie sees Jake Gyllenhaal return to the big screen but the film had to settle for second as it took $15 million.

And it was all about the new entry in the top three this week as Insidious opened at number three.

Diary of A Wimpy Kid 2: Rodrick's Revenge was down three places at number four while Limitless also fell, dropping from three to five.

The Lincoln Lawyer was also down two at four but this week's biggest faller was Sucker Punch as it dropped five places from two to seven.

Rango and Paul were down two as they finished the week at eight and nine but there was a four place drop for Battle: Los Angeles as it rounded off the year at ten.
