Hugh Jackman has revealed that he is thrilled that Darren Aronofsky has come on board to direct Wolverine 2.

The movie will see the pair reunite after they worked together back in 2006 on The Fountain. Wolverine 2 is Jackman return to the role of Logan after the success of the first spin-off movie in 2009.

And Jackman has admitted that he is looking forward to working with Aronofsky and excited about where the filmmaker is going to take the franchise.

Speaking to Vulture Jackman said: "This is, hopefully for me, going to be out of the box. It’s going to be the best one, I hope. Well, I would say that, but I really do feel that, and I feel this is going to be very different.

"This is Wolverine. This is not Popeye. He’s kind of dark. But, you know, this is a change of pace. Chris McQuarrie, who wrote The Usual Suspects, has written the script, so that’ll give you a good clue.

"[Aronofsky’s] going to make it fantastic. There’s going to be some meat on the bones. There will be something to think about as you leave the theatre, for sure."

We many not have seen Jackman on the big screen since Wolverine last summer but the actor has been working on a string of movies including Snow Flower and the Secret Fan and Butter.

Real Steel, which sees him work with Shawn Levy, has just gone into post production.
