Isla Fisher

Isla Fisher has revealed that she started working on her own comedy material because of the lack of good comedic roles of women.

The actress has struggled to find good comedy roles in recent years so began working on her own script Groupies.

Speaking to Contactmusic the actress said: "After Wedding Crashers I was just surprised as to the lack of comedic female material there is.

"So I had to start working and getting stuff out there for myself.

"Groupies is pretty close to being ready and I've got another movie called Life Coach which I've been working on. Hopefully one of them will go soon.

"It's more frustrating being in development than it is just to be cast in something. It's a lot of things involved."

However the actress has found box office success this week with animation movie Rango, in which she voices the character of Beans.

The movie has topped the box office in both the U.S. as well as the UK and is winning over audiences and critics.

Rango is out now.
