Jake Gyllenhaal

Jake Gyllenhaal is planning to take a break from acting to go back to university.

The actor quit his course at New York City's Columbia University to pursue a career in Hollywood.

Gyllenhaal admits he's always regretted the decision to cut short his education, and he's planning to find time to return to college to finish where he left off.

He says, "I dropped out of Columbia University in 2000 after two years of studying Eastern religions and philosophy to concentrate on acting. But I have always wanted to finish my degree."

The actor’s latest movie Brothers, which is based on Susanne Bier's 2004 Danish film Brothers is already receiving some awards attention.

Gyllenhaal joins Natalie Portman and Tobey Maguire in the war movie that follows Tommy Cahill who looks after his older brother Sam’s family when he goes missing in Afghanistan.
