James Cameron says that he wants to get the script to the Avatar sequel finished before he goes into production.
Ever since Avatar was a box office smash back in 2009 there has been much talk of a sequel and Cameron is working on the project.
He reveals that he was doesn't want to make the same mistakes as on the first movie.
Speaking to The West Australian the director said: "I want to get these scripts nailed down, I don't want to be writing the movie in post production.
"We kind of did that on the first picture, I ended up cutting out a lot of scenes and so on and I don't want to do that again."
Avatar went on to be the biggest grossing movie of all time as it was the first film to break the $2 billion barrier at the box office.
And Cameron hope to get filming on this second movie underway at the end of next year - it would be his first directorial outing since the success of Avatar.
