James Franco is joining in on the Twilight craze - he's reading the best-selling vampire novel as research for a children's book he wants to write.
 
The Milk star has been spotted carrying around Twilight, about a forbidden romance between a vampire and a mortal, and admits it's inspiring a "project" he is planning in the future.
 
And Franco confesses he's been sucked into the vampire phenomenon by the addictive book.
 
He tells Esquire magazine, "It's crazy how much sexual tension there is. It just builds and builds. I mean it never stops.

"It's sort of explosive by the end. Crazy. Like they'll blow up with it. And of course, they don't. Which is the point too, I guess."

And while Franco may be on the very of taking a step into the literary world has has been very busy on the acting front and is

all set to star alongside Julia Roberts and Javier Bardem in Eat Pray Love, a big screen adaptation of Elizabeth Gilbert's memoir.

He has also completed work on 127 Hours, the movie from Danny Boyle, which is the true story of mountain climber Aron Ralston's remarkable adventure to save himself after a fallen boulder crashes on his arm and traps him in an isolated canyon in Utah.
