James Franco has revealed that he took on movie Eat Pray love so he could work with Oscar winner Julia Roberts.
Franco takes on the role of David in the big screen adaptation of the Elizabeth Gilbert novel alongside Roberts. Javier Bardem, Billy Crudup and Viola Davis.
Speaking to Parade the actor said: It was fun, she's great. She's a pro.
"We spent a little time together before we started filming and we got along from the beginning. [The chance to work with Roberts] was pretty much the reason I did it.
"I knew that all my scenes would be with Julia. I thought it would be a great experience."
However the actor admits he was surprised at her shyness when it came to filming the love scenes: "She is very, very outgoing.
"But I think she'll also admit pretty freely that she doesn't love to do love scenes and actually was charmingly shy when we had to do them."
Franco is currently mixing his movie roles with TV, as he has returned to show General Hospital. He is currently working on Rise of the Apes having already completed Your Highness and 127 Hours.
