Academy Award winning actress Jennifer Hudson is to join the cast of Sex And The City:The Movie asthe assistant to Carrie Bradshaw. The Dreamgirls star is in final negotiations to join Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon for the long-awaited movie of the sassy sex comedy, according to industry publication Variety.Filming for Sex and the City: The Movie is due to begin next week (19Sep07).Hudson auditioned for series three of American Idol but was voted out in the semi final.But she was given a wildcard through to the final by judge Randy Jackson. When the show finished Hudson turned to acting an was cast as Effie White in the film adaptation of musical Dreamgirls with Jamie Foxx, Eddie Murphy and Beyonce Knowles.She won critical acclaim for her role and was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress - an award which she went on to win becoming only the third African American to scoop the award.
