Jeremy Renner has signed on to join Tom Cruise in the fourth Mission: Impossible movie.
The actor will play a key role as Cruise's partner in the blockbuster, which will start shooting in Vancouver, Prague and Dubai later this year (10). According to Deadline the movie's producers have been looking for an actor who could take over from Cruise in the future.
The film, directed by Brad Bird and will be produced by Lost creator and Star trek director J.J. Abrams, is scheduled to hit cinemas at the end of 2011.
Renner picked up a Best Actor nomination earlier this year for his role in critically acclaimed war drama The Hurt Locker and has since seen his career take off.
He will next been seen in Ben Affleck's new movie The Town, which also stars Affleck himself and Rebecca Hall, he has also been cast as Hawkeye in The Avengers.
The Avengers, which bring marvel comic characters such as Iron Man, Captain America and Thor together, will be the first time that character Haweye has made it to the big screen.
