John Cusack thinks the title of his new movie Hot Tub Time Machine is 'stupid'.
Hot Tub Time Machine is the actor's first movie since big budget apocalypse film 2012 last year.
Speaking to Contactmusic the actor said: "You have a title like 'Hot Tub Time Machine', that's a stupid title. Maybe people are going to think the people who made it have lost their mind completely.
"When they go in and see it, they're going to be so pleasantly surprised. I thought this would be very smart, post-modern and very dumb."
Despite having a 'stupid title' the film has opened at number three in the U.S. this week and Cusack believes that the nostalgia of the film will make it a hit.
"But they still have a fondness for the John Hughes movies, they still have a fondness for the movies I did with director Steve Holland.
"People really liked 'Better Off Dead' - they come up to me all the time and say, 'I love that movie.' "
And there are plenty of projects in the pipeline for Cusack as he teams up with Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Chow Yun Fat for Shanghai before moving onto The Factory.
