Joseph Gordon-Levitt has praised the way that Steven Spielberg set up the Lincoln set - making sure that everything revolved around Daniel Day Lewis and not himself.

The actor takes on the role of Abraham Lincoln's son in a biopic picture Lincoln, which sees Day Lewis take on the title role.

And Levitt believed that the way the set was set up was a key part to making this movie.

Speaking to Flicks and Bits the actor said: "The whole set revolved around [Day-Lewis], and as it should have.

"I think that really speaks high to Steven, because a less experienced and perhaps more egotistical director [might not have]."

"Generally the set revolves around the director, but on Lincoln Steven really centred everything on Daniel, the President - he called him Mr President.

"I think that was key and for me it made it just so I could slip into the world."

Lincoln is another movie that is surrounded in early whispers and the film as well as some of the central performances could be major contenders come the awards season.
