Karl Urban has revealed that he has a cameo role in The Chronicles of Riddick: Dead Man Stalking.

The actor will be reprising the role of Vaako, which we saw for the first time in The Chronicles of Riddick.

Speaking to Sock Till You Drop the actor said: "I sort of do a cameo. I help transition the story and the character of Riddick, where we last saw him, into his new adventure.

"I had a great time working with Vin and David Twohy, they're a fantastic team. I've seen a bit of the film and it's really, really good."

The actor went on to hint that the new movie has an 'indie arthouse sensibility to it' and says that they had to make a 'smarter' film because they didn't have a massive budget.

"It's got a much more indie arthouse sensibility about it - it's a lean machine. This is indie filmmaking. If this had been made by one of the big studios with a big budget... we didn't have that.

"It forced us to make a smarter film. We couldn't afford waste. If we shot it, it's in the film. You don't have to spend much to get a great film and this is proof of that."

Urban can currently be seen in Dredd - which is enjoying box office success both here and in the States.

He has also completed work on The Loft and Star Trek Into Darkness - which sees him reprise the role of Bones.
