Kate Winslet

Kate Winslet admits that she likes to takes on movies and roles that scare her.

The actress says that she never wants to be blase and comfortable with a movie part and reveals that she learns something with every project that she takes on.

Speaking to V Magazine the actress said: "I hope I am s**tting myself over the characters I play for the rest of my life.

"Because the day I go 'Oh yeah, that's going to be a piece of pie', why f**ing bother? If you do that, you do not learn," Winslet told V Magazine.

"I hope I'm always learning something. So I won an Oscar. It's amazing. I've got that for the rest of my life for a performance I am proud of.

"It nearly killed me. I am really proud of the film. That's it, moving on."

And the actress has a couple of new projects in the pipeline Contagion, which is directed by Steven Soderbergh, and Carnage, directed by Roman Polanski.

These will be her first movies since Revolutionary Road back in 2008 - she has however found TV success with Mildred Pierce.

Contagion is released 21st October.
