Keira Knightley is continuing her run of 'grown up' roles as she is cast as aristocrat Georgiana, dutchess of Devonshire in new movie 'The Dutchess'Set in the 18th century the movie is adapted from Amanda Foreman's biography of the dutchess, who is well know for living a promiscuous and extravagant life style and was described at the Princess Diana of the time.Like her Pirates of the Caribbean co-star Orlando Bloom Knightley has been trying to move away from her Pirates image and take on more 'grown up' roles.She is set to star in an adaptation of Ian McEwan's novel as Cecilia Tallis alongside fellow Brit actor James McAvoy and Vanessa Redgrave.The film, directed by Joe Wright who directed Pride and Prejudice, is to open the Venice Film Festival on 29 August.She will also star in The Edge of Love, written by her mother Sharman Macdonald, alongside Cillian Murphy and Sienna Miller about two women's relationship with poet Dylan Thomas.Knightley shot to fame when she appeared in Bend It Like Beckham about an Asian girl's love for football. She was nominated for an Academy Award in 2006 for her role as Jane Austin's most famous heroine Elizabeth Bennett in Pride and Prejudice. The Oscar went to Reese Witherspoon for her role in Walk The Line.
