Kristen Stewart

Kristen Stewart says she is thankful that she could go and do other movies in between shooting the Twilight films as she thinks she would have gone 'mad' otherwise'.

We are going to have a double dose of Stewart on the big screen this autumn as she reprises the role of Bella Swan for the final time in The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2.

But her other project On The Road is one of the most anticipated movies of the autumn as Jack Kerouac's novel is adapted into a movie.

And it is work on projects like On The Road that Stewart believes helped her through the craziness of the Twilight Saga.

Speaking to Glamour magazine the actress said: "I lived in the Twilight world for about four years - that's a very long time that demands a lot of patience on your part.

"Thank God, I had the opportunity to do smaller movies like The Runaways, Welcome To The Rileys and On The Road in between. Otherwise I'd probably have turned mad."

On The Road sees Stewart team up with Garrett Hedlund and Sam Riley while Walter Salles is in the director's chair.

On The Road is released 12th October.

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2 is released 16th November.
