Liam Neeson has revealed that he was not told The Dark Knight Rises plot when filming his scenes for the film.

The actor reprised the role of Ra's al Ghul in the final instalment of Christopher Nolan's trilogy - a role he played in Batman Begins.

And Nolan was incredibly secretive about the plot of the movie that Neeson was kept in the dark.

Speaking to MTV the actor said: "I went and shot a scene for two hours with Christian Bale. There was a set, and Christian was tied up.

"I said, 'Chris, what am I doing?' [Nolan said,] 'Um... well, just walk forward, and say the lines, walk back, and that'll be it, really.'

"I said, 'What the f**k? Tell me the story!' [He said,] 'Um... I'd prefer not to, really'. 'Okay, don't mind me - I'm just an actor!'"

The Dark Knight Rises went on to break $1 billion when it was released earlier this year and it is the second biggest movie of the year so far.

As for Neeson he is back on the big screen this week as he reprises the role of Bryan Mills in Taken 2.

The Dark Knight Rises is released on DVD & Blu-Ray 3rd December.
