Martin Scorsese is set to be honored for his contribution to cinema at the upcoming Santa Barbara International Film Festival in California.
The Oscar winner will receive the coveted American Riviera Award, which recognizes influential artists in the U.S. movie industry.
Scorsese will accept the prize at a ceremony at the Arlington Theater in Santa Barbara, California on 30 January (12), following in the footsteps of previous recipients Sandra Bullock, Annette Bening and Mickey Rourke.
The festival kicks off on 26 January (12).
Scorsese's latest movie project Hugo, which was it first 3D movie has been winning rave reviews since it's release earlier this month.
The movie has picked up eleven Critics' Choice Award nominations and is now tipped to be a Best Picture Oscar contender.
