Academy Award winning director Martin Scorsese and actor Leonardo DiCaprio are, according to Variety magazine, to team up for new film.The pair are set to begin shooting crime thriller Shutter Island, an adaptation of a Dennis Lehane novel, next year.This will be the fourth collaboration between the actor and director as DiCaprio replaces Di Niro as Scorsese's main leading man.DiCaprio made his big screen return in 2002 in Gangs of America which earnt Scorsese an Oscar nomination for Best Director and Best Picture.Two years later they teamed up again for The Aviator, a biopic of Howard Hughes, which earnt DiCaprio an Oscar nomination for Best Actor and a Scorses's fifth Best Director nod.Last year their third collaboration The Departed won Scorsese the Best Director Oscar as well as Best Picture.In the last few years other Lehane novels have also been adapted for the big screen including Clint Eastwood's Mystic River starring Sean Penn and the soon to be released Gone Baby Gone, which is actor Ben Afflecks directorial debut.Helen Earnshaw
