Mary J Blige has revealed that she wants a successful acting career.
We last saw Blige on the big screen back in 2009 when she appeared in Tyler Perry's I Can Do Bad All by Myself.
But now the singer admits that she is working hard with several different coaches as she is looking to take on more acting roles.
Speaking to Black Tree TV Blige said: "I'm trying to do everything - I have a dialect coach, acting coach, piano coach... everything.
"I'm just doing what I'm doing. The film thing is going to start happening more often because I'm trying to nail [it], not just get an acting job because I'm a singer.
"I have a coach for every little thing I do. I want Queen Latifah to be proud of me... [and] Angela Bassett of course. I want to earn my acting kudos."
Blige is currently filming Rock of Ages, which stars Tom Cruise, Malin Akerman, Paul Giamatti and Russell Brand and is directed by Adam Shankman.
Rock of Ages is released next year.
