Matt Damon has revealed that he has not signed on to direct a script from Ben and Casey Affleck.

The brothers are all set to pen a script, tentatively entitled The Trade, and Ben had suggested that his good pal Damon may be stepping behind the camera for the first time.

Ben Affleck and Damon caught everyone's attention back in 1997 when they penned and starred in Good Will Hunting, going on to win a Best Original Screenplay Oscar.

However Damon admits that he has not committed to anything yet.

Speaking to People the actor said: "He (Ben) and Casey were going to write this movie and I guess Ben was quoted recently saying that he'd love to have me direct it.

"[But] there is no script yet."

Damon is back on the big screen in the new year with his movie Hereafter, which sees him reunite with Invictus filmmaker Clint Eastwood.

He has already completed work on Margaret, True Grit and The Adjustment Bureau and has lent his voice to animation movie Happy Feet 2 in 3D.

Damon is currently filming Contagion, which also stars Kate Winslet, Gwyneth Paltrow and Marion Cotillard.
