Matt Damon is still waiting for Paul Greengrass to change his mind about returning for a fourth Bourne movie before he commits to a possible return.
Greengrass said earlier this year that he would not return for a fourth film in the hit franchise while Damon will not return with the director.
And while there are rumours swirling around that Tony Gilroy was penning a new script but Damon is not yet attached to that possible project.
Speaking to Las Vegas Weekly the actor said: "I love the character. I love the stories. But only if Paul Greengrass says he will direct again. So far, though, he’s decided not to.
"I’d definitely say yes if he went for it. I know he would have a great story, and it would protect the legacy of what we created. There would be no disappointment for anybody, but we wait.
"There are rumours about shooting again in the middle of next year, but nothing definite yet other than his no until there’s the right script... a great script!"
Damon and Greengrass reunited earlier this year for Green Zone, one of the best movies of 2010 so far, a third movie together for the pair.
