Mel Gibson has revealed that his current project may be his last in the director's chair.
The director is currently working on a movie about Vikings and admitted that it is a project he has thought about since she was young.
Speaking to Digital Spy the actor turned director said: "It was the first movie I ever thought about making. I saw it in my mind back when I was teenager. Seriously, it’s the first movie I wanted to make."
"And I think it will be the last film I direct. It’s the thing I have been going toward, in a way, since I was young, and I think when it’s done I may be finished.
"We're going hammer and tongs on the script right now."
Gibson returned to the big screen earlier this year for the first time since Signs with his thriller Edge of Darkness.
This would be his first film in the director's chair since Apocalypto back in 2006.
