"Michael had always wanted to play Peter Pan, but I called Michael and I said, 'This is about a lawyer that is brought back to save his kids and discovers that he was once, when he was younger, Peter Pan.'

Jackson pulled out of playing Peter Pan in the 1991 film Hook, because director didn't have the same vision as him.

The iconic popstar had plans to play the lead role of Peter Pan in the Steven Spielberg film but was unwilling to take it as he didn't want to play a lawyer who forget that he never grew up.

Spielberg told Entertainment Weekly magazine, "Michael had always wanted to play Peter Pan, but I called Michael and I said, 'This is about a lawyer that is brought back to save his kids and discovers that he was once, when he was younger, Peter Pan.'

The Director explained, "Michael understood at that point it wasn't the same Peter Pan he wanted to make."

Robin Williams eventually took the role as Peter Pan in the film where Julia Roberts, Maggie Smith and Dustin Hoffman also starred.
