Nicolas Cage admits that he was nervous when working with the stunt women on his new movie Drive Angry 3D.

The Oscar winner reveals that he was so worried about somebody getting hurt during the high speed car scenes that had to retreat to a 'zen mode' to concentrate.

Speaking to MSN the actor said: "I'm OK when I'm driving alone - it's when I have various stunt women on the hood and I'm driving at speeds approaching 80, 90, 100mph, then I got a little nervous.

"I go into a focused, concentrated Zen-mode where I keep chanting to myself 'no-one is going to get hurt, no-one is going to get hurt, no-one is going to get hurt' and thankfully no-one did - but definitely my adrenalin was up!

The actor teams up with Amber Heard and Billy Burke as a father goes on the hunt for the men who killed his daughter. He is back on the big screen this week with The Sorcerer's Apprentice.

He also has Season of the Witch and The Hungry Rabbit Jumps and The Croods in the pipeline as well National Treasure 3 and Office Paranormal.

The Sorcerer's Apprentice is out now.
