Noel Clarke

Noel Clarke admits that he gets frustrated when people suggest that he shouldn't act and direct.

I can't understand that. You have to apologise for doing more than one thing.

The British actor is back on the big screen this week with his new movie 4.3.2.1. which he appears in as well as directs, he also pens the script.

And he can't understand why taking on two roles on a movie is such a big issue.

In an interview with The Independent the actor said: "In America, the more things people can do, the happier they are. You can do everything there.

"Over here they're like, 'What? Let me sit down and have a sip of whisky. You write, you act and you - direct?'

"I can't understand that. You have to apologise for doing more than one thing. That bugs me. A lot."

4.3.2.1. is a different movie for Clarke, inspired by Pulp Fiction and Amores Perros, as it's a female driven movie which he has never done before.

And he is first to admit that it was hard work. "It's hard to do it justice 'coz it's quite a unique film. It's a new genre.

"I wrote it because I was always wanting to do something different like Quentin Tarentino, I love those types of film. The idea of doing something different scared me."
