Pirates of the Caribbean

Pirates of the Caribbean 4 is a priority for Disney according to producer Jerry Bruckheimer.

Despite wrapping up the successful trilogy of movies in 2007 with At World's End and both Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightley going off to pastures new the franchise is set to return to the big screen.

In an interview with ComingSoon.net Bruckheimer said: "It's a great franchise for them and for us, too. We love the character and Johnny was really excited about coming back to Captain Jack.

"He certainly is interested in Tonto, but Disney's priority is to get Pirates made first. You never know what's going to happen, but they would like it."

Johnny Depp is aboard the project to reprise the popular Captain Jack Sparrow, signing on the dotted line back in September 2008.

Scriptwriters Ted Elliott and Terry Rossio are also back and early rumours have suggest Sparrow will once again team up with Captain Barbossa to find the Fountain of Youth.

But whether director Gore Verbinski will return to the director's chair is yet unknown. He left the early stages of the fourth film to go and shoot BioShock however Bruckheimer hasn't ruled out a return.

"He created the franchise so we'd love to have him back, but it's kind of up to him."
