Quentin Tarantino

Quentin Tarantino has admitted that he would like to make a romantic comedy.

The filmmaker is best known for his more action/violent movies such as Pulp Fiction and Reservoir Dogs but believes that he can revitalise the genre.

Speaking to Film.com the director said: "I'd love to make a romantic comedy and take it out of the ghetto it's been exiled to.

"I have done love stories, they've just been in my other movies. True Romance's title was not ironic.

"Sure, James Gandolfini almost beats Patricia Arquette to death and she has to blow him away with a shotgun but that doesn't mean it's not romantic. It just has to be done my way and I think people want me to do it my way."

The filmmaker's latest movie Inglourious Basterds was nominated for Best Picture and Best Director at last weekend's Academy Awards.

Despite walking away empty handed the movie was a critical success and Tarantino's most successful film at the box office.
